About Fine Detail
Behind Fine Detail is me, Luise Tanhøj Østergaard — and I love glass buttons with a story.
Ever since I trained in fashion design, I have been collecting historical glass buttons. What started as a passion has become Fine Detail — my way of sharing these small beauties with you, who also appreciate the slow, the handmade, and the detail that makes a difference.
The creation of glass buttons is an intricate craft passed down through generations. The buttons are shaped and painted by hand according to old European traditions by the same families who have mastered the craft for over 100 years. I have been given a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with these artisan families — to bring their buttons out of oblivion and to those of you who understand their value.
In a time when everything moves fast, I believe in immersion, sensuality, and the joy of creating something with your hands that lasts. A small button has a big effect. The hand-knitted cardigan, the crocheted vest, or the jacket you've been embroidering for months — it deserves that final, perfect detail. A pink glass button with a ladybug unfolding its wings. A floral button with rhinestones on the shoulder of a wool sweater. A gold button that catches the sunlight in a glimpse.
I have buttons for all types and styles — small, curated beauties with great power. Please visit my webshop, and feel free to write to me if you have any requests for the assortment.
Together with my team, we will find that button from bygone eras that will be the exquisite detail on your handicraft.
